Hi Guys,

How do you handle internet connection issue?

What is the best way to use two different connections?

Thank you.

These days a large number of routers support dual WAN connections. Just look for a router with dual WAN and auto failover/failback.

It basically means you have two providers (ie cable and DSL, or cable and 4g) and then the router will detect a failure of one link and move everything to the second.

It's not seamless in the retail space of routers, in other words you will experience a disconnection of around 30-60 seconds depending on your hardware.

For absolute flawless failover you need high-end equipment that can be difficult to setup for a typical soho network.

Mike

I use a TP-Link dual Wan router.

You can configure it in failover, or you can use it 50/50 or any %
Ninjatrader perfers to be on one line and switch when necessary

it's low cost, +/- 200 euro
works fine

If you choose two providers, go for two technologies

I have a cable provider over cable and a VDSL2 provider (over a telephone copper line)
two companies two technologies

There are devices with G3/G4 backup using mobile, but i haven't tested that
might be also an option...

@rahulgopi thanks. guess here you can have 3 Wan ports. 2 FE based & 1 4G based

@rleplae is there a particular model you found good. The TP-Links are very attractive from a cost perspective and few seem can do easy 2/ 3WANs.

thnx
