Some of the MT4 indicators posted in the Downloads/Indicators section of Futures.io don't work in my Forex.com MT4 platform. I'm able to download the indicators to my computer but after placing them in the "Indicators Folder" of my forex.com MT4 platform they don't show up in the "Custom Indicators" area. There are some indicators that did work such as VWAP_close or Heiken Ashi.
Some of the indicators that I wanted to add but are not working include:
color_change_mvg_avg.mq4
Supertrend_Audible_Alert.mq4
Zerolag_MACD.mq4
Var_Mov_Avg3.ex4
kor_Harmonics.ex4
fm.ex4 (New Version of MACD)
I'm wondering if some of these files are missing components or if they were simply not updated. I'm using the Version: 4.0 Build 890 (25 Sep 2015). Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.
I just tested the harmonics indicator and it comes up with an expired message when attached to a chart but you should be able to see it in the indicators folder. How do you add it to your mt4? I'm running build 902.
I placed the indicator in the "Indicators" folder (Metatrader terminal - MQL4 - Indicators). I restarted metatrader but it doesn't show up when I go to Insert - Indicators - Custom.
You should probably update to the latest build .. Just to make sure I got it right - from within the mt4 you select "File" and then "Open Data Folder" and there you select "MQL4" and then "Indicators" folder?
Thank you Fido. Actually the way I originally save the files was locally to my computer by going to Metatrader Terminal - MQL4 - Indicators. I also saved the files the way you told me Open Data Folder (within Metatrader under File) - Select MQL4 - Save in the indicators folder. The result was the same.
I thought that each time I log on to the metatrader terminal I get automatic updates on the latest version. What's the best way of updating to the latest build? I have a live account with Forex.com and a demo account with Oanda. Have you tried downloading any other indicators from the Downloads area? Are they all working for you?
