MFE/MAE : means Maximum Favorable Excursion and Maximum Averse Excursion
you could take the maximum it was to the most distant point
although not completely correct
2) average
in case of scaling in/out
you could calculate your average entry and calculate from there
bottom for me, the MAE/MFE is a value that tracks potential
of you keep that in the back of your mind, you kind of understand how to
calculate and how to deal with it
if your average result is 10 ticks let's say for 50 trades
and you average MFE is 30
it means you always leave a lot on the table
if you make often losses and the MFE is low
then it means the trades never had potential
