Discussion in Switzerland is about the insurance for the leading staff of VW.
VW company made an insurance with Zurich insurances. A maximum sum
of 500 million can be due - which is to pay by the Zurich. Of course this will
not cover the scandal costs - but the management will be fine?
The sum will not be due if the fraud was "intentional" by investigation
Zurich insurance and their stockholders are most interested to know how
and by when the case is closed to see the final 2016 results.
It's official VW didn't lie....they simply didn't understand the question! Great response, I'll use that one the next time I get in trouble....
"Mueller: We didn't lie. We didn't understand the question first. And then we worked since 2014 to solve the problem. And we did it together and it was a default of VW that it needed such a long time."
fortunately, VW convinced NPR to do a second interview and changed their tune...
