Just curious, whether it is possible to use OpenOffice/ LibreOffice to trade instead of MS Excel and if so, how, and is anybody here doing so?

I use LibreOffice Calc instead of Excel for all my spreadsheet needs and LibreOffice Writer instead of MS Word.

Although I'm not sure about the trading part tho, that I haven't tried.

Thanks. I have never tried and would not not know where to start. What broker do you use and how do you get data feeds and order routing into LibreOffice? I have never tried to trade with just a spreadsheet, as I do not have MS Excel. But if it is possible with OpenOffice/Libre Office, then I would like to try that. Do you have, or know of, any documentation where I can see how to do this and how to get data and order routing to my broker setup in a non-MS-Excel spreadsheet?

LibreOffice and OpenOffice can read .xls and csv files. But if the Excel file is from a new Excel version or use some goodies/macros, then it will be a problem.
I had a lot of problems with LibreOffice, but OpenOffice works fine.
