The solar plane that started last year to its unique around the world tour has today landed in Silicon Valley.
Starting from Abu Dhabi with a longer winter stop in Hawaii it resumed the tour again and made several new
world records.
Of course the super light plane (2.5 tons) with a span width of more than a Jumbo Jet has not used a drop of
kerosene but is using only solar power - made the first night flight as well and repeated this since the start
to the world tour last year.

The tour can be watched live on this site: Solar Impulse Clean Technologies to Fly Around the World

Both pilots (Piccard and Borschberg) are initiators, adventurers and pioneers in their area. Nothing similar is in the air.

Watch this very special adventure and see new upcoming pioneering development that will change our lives.

After crossing USA from West to East, Solarimpulse (pilot B. Piccard) landed at the East Coast near New York.
Total cumulated distance now: 29 572 km with more than 380 hours... not really a Concord flight!
But no drop of Kerosene used.

Get a view of last leg here:
Solar Impulse - 13th Leg from Dayton to Lehigh Valley

Next chapter will be again a long distance flight with higher risk.
