anyone know why Italy has started printing Lira? BBC is the UK is not reporting this.

a colleague who lives in Italy has recently visited me and was surprised that there's very little mention of it?

just googled

They're pulling your leg - Italy's not printing Lira again. The ECB would be up in arms about it and everyone would talk about it - besides, there hasn't been anything fundamental as of late that would prompt Italy to take such a drastic action.

If any country would have found itself in such a situation, it would have been Greece, and it would have been in summer last year.

Hi, I am from Italy and i can assure you that this is pure fantasy. Somebody wanted to return to the Lira but it is not possible anymore, so do not worry....ciao
