My turn to start a journal.

I come from the buy side as an analyst of small cap stocks. I have been used to buy and hold stocks but got tired of it and wanted to try something new.

This is my 2nd year as a futures trader and I have learned more than I could ever imagine about the markets. So far my trading has been successful but I have still a long way to go. My problems are ironically, being an old buy and hold guy, that I'm afraid of holding my positions too long. I have a clear plan for my day with target points and entry's but only my entry's gets executed I never hold my positions to my target.

I trade the e-mini, and Nq. When I feel up for it I'll take a jab at FDAX.

I use volume profile to identify S/R and usually I'll look at fibs as second entry for the day.

I trade 2 hours during eurex and 2-3 hours of the us session.

Now trades in the dax today, busy morning with the kids and when I finally got settled in my office, the volume was pretty low, so had to wait until US session.

Had an idea that the 2138, if it got there early, would be a good short, but didn't quite get there, so no ES trade.

Got a small NQ trade locked on the first test down after it took out 42, closed at 30 so pretty good scalp to the tick.

Shorted the wild 68 bar out 44 on CL, pleased with that one.

All in all a good day, no stupid trades and tried to hold on as long as possible without chicken out.
