Hi all,

I'm looking for a script that will make the data box on NT6.5 dynamic (update the HLC on the current price bar automatically). I just switched to NT from Esignal and am very disappointed that the data box doesn't consistently update like Esignal's does.

I say consistently because strangely, from time to time, it actually does update every two seconds, then I move the cursor away or close it and come back and it goes back to being static.

Without the dynamic updating, I'm finding it cumbersome having to constantly click the cursor and work my deal/order tickets as well.

If I understand your problem correctly, it has to do with cursor placement.

I use the crosshair so I have horizontal and vertical lines. The vertical line needs to be placed on the current bar or in the right-hand margin to give you dynamic updating of the new incoming data .

I use both the Global and cross hair, depending on how much I can stand the annoying timescale movement on the Global (where the smaller timeframe chart flashes backwards and forwards erratically if I move my cursor too much - in 7 you are allowed to switch this off, thank goodness).

I've been told by the NT people that it's supposed to be static. In other words, when my cursor is on the current price bar, the data in the data box does not change/update until I either move the cursor away and back to the price bar again or click my mouse.

BUT I will certainly try what you are suggesting on Monday - if it is that easy (and I hope it is ) I will be thrilled and will update this thread to 'answered'. (And of course send my thanks)

I tried this on Sunday pm with real 6e market rolling and different bar types (tick, second, range). It turns out I'm wrong. I'm not sure why it doesn't update in real time. Not even the time updates dynamically.

I hope someone else will offer their explanation or that NT support forum might offer some help.

That's ok, thanks for trying.

I've actually just invested in (yet another) pc so I can use one mouse to put in prices on the broker sites and one to click the price bar to update it. Obviously I'd love it if someone of the IT persuasion can help but if not, I guess I have to live with it.
