I used CQG as a Speculator on the NYMEX Floor for it's Spread Charting functionality. I used TS, no spreads... now NT 7...still no spreads? Man. Do these platform / Brokerage guys realize what kind of money there is in that game? Apparently not, otherwise they'd have added it a long time ago.
Even though there was interest for spread charting on NT8 they still didn't include it in NT8 (no idea why) so I may be hiring a developer to make an indicator to allow me to have those kinds of charts.
I installed NT8 several days ago and I really like it. I've already had a few indicators converted which were not simple jobs.
I've been holding off on downloading NT8 just long enough for them to identify and fix the inevitable bugs that exist in every software upgrade. It looks much improved, so I'll probably back my NT7 up again and try 8 out.
I lost a bunch of custom stuff changing from 6 to 7...hopefully that doesn't happen again. Did you have any issues when you made the switch?
I have to rebuild templates and ATM strategies because they don't carryover. Luckily I don't use too many indicators and the more important ones I do use such as OFA and Jigsaw have been/being converted to NT8 versions. Contract rollover is much easier in this version (was a pain in NT7).
When you install NT8 it asks if you want to import the configuration from NT7. If you say yes it imports your license key as well as the connection info.
If you have a lot of custom indicators maybe don't uninstall NT7 just yet, I would keep it. I'm still keeping mine.
Wise of you not to switch over yet. There is a serious bug with saving workspaces. Sometimes it saves properly sometimes it does not. I added more charts to a workspace, saved it and all of a sudden my charts disappeared. I check the workspaces folder and the workspace I just saved is now a 1kb file. I made the workspace again, tried to re-save, same thing.
Please be sure to contact our support team on this issue. Thanks.

Not yet but contacted them regarding another issue this morning which I resolved. They responded saying I'm using the beta version and should upgrade, that could be the reason.
I am having issues when displaying several instruments on the same chart. I have 7 data series being displayed in 3 panels because I like to watch intermarket correlations. Sometimes two or more data series suddenly disappear after awhile and I cannot get them back by clicking reload historical data.
Sometimes one or two of the data series in the same panel start lagging the main instrument I am correlating them with. Reloading historical data does not always fix this issue. Often I have to disconnect my feeds and repair database/reset instruments.
I have been communicating with NT support about this, sending them my log and trace files. Deleting the database cache and workspaces file does not work as the problem is still popping up.
