I found out this very interesting article:

TICK16 is the next generation of the classic breadth indicator TICK index. It offers many advantages over the original index and is much more useful for the current hectic trading environment. I am going to cover some basic usages of this powerful tool.

once you introduce a variable input into the equation you will have endless variations. you can see he already have tick16 and tick55 to front run him I will use tick5 instead.

Interesting but not as relevant today - iqfeed updates TICK and other market breadth indicators every 1 sec.

I still use TICK in its most basic form with an ES 1 min chart. Still continues to be my bread and butter for trading the ES.

can someone tell me if it is possible to use the $tick indicator with range or volume charts or is it only possible to use it time based?
