As a mac user I crave simplicity in my OS and other software.
I'm an accomplished vector and photo compositing artist and have published dozens of beautiful and congruent websites.
I say this to give you a little context for my uNbearable FRUSTRATION with NinjaTrader BS.

Yes, as the title implies... THIS-IS-A-RANT...

Damn it... I am SO SICK of working ON NinjaTrader rather than working on my trading.

There has to be a more stable platform than NT7 and the ridiculous-code-diarrhea that is NT8...
(please see the multi-layered absurd hot mess that is NT8 alerts... honestly, did a shut-in microsoft engineer alternate between masturbation and code writing in his mom's basement when writing that garbage?)

I use NT7 because.... damn... at least there is a level of sanity with that platform.

But this evening is a very special kind of hellish madness...
Are we experiencing solar flares or something?

I've been working my ass off for weeks assembling a KILLER workspace for trading ES.
I constantly save save save all day long and back up EVERYTHING religiously every single day, sometimes twice as any mature artist, that has experienced lost work does.
I close the platform after taking 4 full ES points, in a great mood... and look forward to crunching the numbers in the evening for the next day.
But oh no... that's not going to happen.
I fire up the trading notebook and only the control panel will open.
I find workspaces open that I am certain I closed and haven't used for 2 trading days.
I cannot close the continuum connection to restore from a back up and come to the nauseating conclusion that I'm back to emailing support and giving up what promises to be a great trading morning YET AGAIN.

Is it too much to ask to simply have a vector trading platform with on-chart trading with the most basic vector functions?

What do I mean?
How about this:

Ctrl-Z for UNDO
Shift-Click to select multiple objects
Option-Click to Paste objects AT THE DAMNED CURSOR (rather than having to search price for what you just pasted)
Lock objects / text onto a floating layer that is static -or- moves with price but remains vertically static?
CONSOLIDATE THE DAMNED DIALOGUE BOXES FOLKS

This is VECTOR 101 guys... it is with THESE FEATURES that you BEGIN your interface development.

I am sick to death of NT...
What other options are there out there.
Please?

If I sound, at this point like I am "Staunchly in favor of Cocoa Puffs" you're right... I'm Fv¢x14G Crazy (by Einstein's definition) to continually work with the same software over and over and actually expect a different result... I Am serious and don't call me Shirley.

If, at this point, you feel it necessary to kick me off the forum for my candid diatribe... so be it.

It would be nice to actually work on trading instead of dealing with endless glitches on nt8.

I know @Blash has had his share of issues with NT7. Perhaps he can share a tip or two on how to maintain trouble-free workspaces.

thanks, but I've been using NT7, collectively for over 4years.
On and off trading since 2011.

I keep duplicates and back up daily.

When I do that and then open the platform to discover that only the control panel remains on both the original and a backup it makes me want to smash the computer.

Then when I email support through the terminal, including log and trace files and everything else possible and they never receive it... well...

Thats when you post a scathing thread like I did.

I'm done with the BS after YEARS of use.
By the way, the reason I'm done with it for good is seeing the struggles everyone has with the late great NT8 that was supposed to be the end all be all to futures trading... hah.. yeah right.
