IB is a good broker. Their data is not suitable for trading (no tick data, limited historical data, filtering etc.).
IB and SC with SC data work well as I mentioned. The SC data center is in Chicago and any lag here in Germany is not really noticeable (i'm trading DAX minis so its a long round trip!). Price-wise, SC gives a discount based on how many months you pay for in advance. No contracts, no licenses to purchase, pay as you go so its convenient.
I cant find this free option on the sierra site. Youre paying for it somewhere. Perhaps a deal through Amp where they charge a higher transaction fees or something?
SC added the CTS data+execution as well. I suggest that you try that with SC for execution. This made a huge difference for one of our overseas customer who is located way further from Chi or Frankfurt than you are.
Thank you,
Matt Z

Every data feed has its own source code for execution and latency. Also, they have a certain infrastructure that allows them to send orders at low latency. You need to test them and see which one works best for you.
I just shared our experience with one customer.
Rithmic has servers as well in Europe, and I believe you can choose that on your platforms.
The latency and execution doe snot depend on AMP, rather the technology they provide.
The data providers have their own servers. This is to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks,

What I've been told AMP's risk control is centralized in Chicago with no servers elsewhere. This means there is allways a need to send packets cross atlantic.
Anyway if you can receive quotes "locally" (which I think in this situation is the case) it alone is an advantage. So it is a definitely recommended action to try CTS or Rithmic. No doubt.
Last time when I was using Rithmic I saw lot of packets going/coming to/from US while trading. I monitored the traffic by the Wireshark utility. Disclaimer: I hope there was no misconfiguration from my side
If someone could do the same with CTS the feedback/experiences would be very interesting to hear.
I fully understand that in most of the cases the impact of being the risk control in US may be quite low. I mean is it really bad thing for your realized expectancy. The answer is very much up to the trading system you run.
