I was backtesting a strategy I Multicharts, while comparing results to Tradestation. I found that MultiCharts was off by a lot... After some digging into the trades, I found both take the same trades and nothing is different. While looking at the numbers, I noticed that the numbers (profits and losses only) are off by a factor of 5. For example: If Tradestation showed a profit of 50K, Multicharts would show 10K!!
In MC I'm using imported data via ASCII. Prices look normal... Is there a factor that I have to set in MC??? Thanks in advance

In case if somebody runs into the same issue: When you import the data in the QuoteManager, you have to choose custom then enter "Big Point Value" to equal $50 (for ES). Mine had 10 instead..

mamax98,

the flexibility that MC offers in terms of different datafeeds comes with the price that the symbols might not be configured correctly when you add them via the lookup from time to time. Therefore it's a good practice to check within Quotemanager that the settings for big point value and minimum movement, as well as the trading sessions, are correctly set. Otherwise you might miss data or receive wrong results (like in your example in the performance report).

Regards,

ABCTG

Thanks ABCTG. I've started using MC 3 weeks ago, and there's definitely some adapting I have to do coming from TS lol
