I'm just curious if anyone has come across displays that offer multiple inputs beyond "one of each" single HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, and VGA.

Ideally I'd like to find a monitor which has only multiple HDMI or single HDMI and multiple DisplayPorts.

I realize a KVM switch is a possibility but I would rather use Synergy. There could be a situation where I want display configurations such as:

• Display 1 = Computer A, Display 2 = Computer B, Display 3 = Computer C
  Display 1 = Computer A, Display 2 = Computer B, Display 3 = Computer A
  Display 1 = Computer C, Display 2 = Computer C, Display 3 = Computer C

In the end I guess I could settle for the "one of each" spec, but I thought I would ask for forum. Thanks!

laptop has display port 1.2 and hdmi 2.0 output
monitors have both as well

should I just run one of each type to each monitor?...or should I get a display port or hdmi splitter to use the same type cables on both monitors?

I once helped a customer with this kind display and to the best of my memory, we used a splitter for the HDMI.
We tried all kinds of configurations but HDMI outputs provide a good quality display.

There are VERY technical savvy guys here so listen to their input as well.

I think to save with a bit of cable management, and keeping it minimalistic, daisy-chaining the monitors is the most efficient way to go.

You need to check if your GPU can handle how ever many displays you have / you're adding on top and the resolution you want to run on all screens.

The display port connection coming out of your laptop can easily run 2 screens for sure at least on 1080p or 1440p.

The monitors I just got have a 165hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time so trying to figure out which will maximize the performance.

A good quality certified displayport cable should be able to handle easily 60hz and upwards including 165hz. But really I know display port 1.2 can support 144Hz, and the difference between 144 and 165 Hz is not even distinguishable to the human eye, nor does it make any real difference. If you were to have 60 Hz on one monitor but 144 on the other, you WILL notice the difference, just have both monitors set at 144Hz, and it'll work / look flawlessly
