We switch (= in correct lingo : we roll over) to the next month, as soon as the traded
volume is higher than the first contract.

In lingo, we talk about the 'front month', the front month is the month / expiry that
has the highest number of contracts traded.

Once volume shifts to december, you should roll-over, the reason being that you want
to be tradin in the month with the highest liquidity...

The september contract trades until expiry of the contract
