Risk coverage is assumed but maybe I should have not assumed everyone thinks that way.

No it isn't. The most important thing is getting the lowest margin. That will affect your ROI more than cost.
Highest ROI is the goal. A higher amount of money you have left after a trade is done is the goal.
Cost factors in, but not as much as margin.
As a newbie i've been reading around at many different sources to understanding the basics of option trading (before I go into more depth). A lot of material out there is just confusing, people over-complicating simple ideas (or not being able to portray ideas in a simplistic and logical form). But after just 40 minutes or so of the webinar video by Ron99, definitely made things easier for me to understand . Thank you for this. I like your straight to the point style, NO BS. Will you be doing more webinar's?

Probably not. You are the first to ask for another in years.

Afternoon everyone,
Long time lurker, havent posted here in a very long time. Just now getting back into trading this year after a 2 year hiatus due to personal issues.
I know when this thread started it was selling options on all commodity futures but seems like its become more just /ES futures? Nothing wrong with that obviously, but just curious if others besides Myrrdin (appreciate the thread !!) are selling other commodity futures and if so which ones ?
In process of moving money over to decarleytrading and then plan on selling /ES, /KC, /GC or /Si and the grains.
thanks and hope everyone has a great trading year
Vijay

I sell options on on /CL the most, followed by /ES, /ZS and /ZC. Occasionally I'll do /ZB, and I haven't yet felt comfortable with /GC or /NG or /ZW. I don't do anything in the smaller markets (copper, OJ etc) due to liquidity concerns.

I suggest that people use myrrdin's thread for discussing trading other commodities. No point in discussing same thing in two threads.

After 4 trading days, the S&P 500 is up 2.6% YTD.
When the first 5 days are up >2%?
Since '50, S&P 500 is higher for the year 15 out of 15 times. Average return is +18.6%.
Of course past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
Interesting. Thanks @ron99 .
Should point out that in 2 of the 15 years, the market did finish up for the year but lower than it was at the end of the first 5 days.

Still a bit of a newbie. During 2017 traded NG (cautiously with success)/ZW/ZM/LC/LH, besides ES. Learnt much from Myrrdin and Ron99 and will continue to learn much going forward no doubt.

I think you mentioned that you were going to do some traveling.
Have your trips been interesting and noteworthy?
