PLEASE TRADERS!! LET'S PERSUADE NT8 DEVELOPERS TO PROVIDE AND OPTION TO TRACK TRADES "FLAT TO FLAT!!" That way we can all really TRACK our PERFORMANCE. Here's the problem...
What I would like to see in NinjaTrader would be a HUGE AND VASTLY IMPROVED WAY OF TRACKING OUR TRADES WHEN TRADING MULTIPLE CONTRACTS!! Let me explain: Currently if a trader buys 50 cars of, say CL at 46.50, he will likely be filled at multiple times and prices. Even at a limit price he may be filled at 20 cars @ 46.50, 12 cars @ 46.49, 10 cars @ 49.47, and then finally fill the last 9 @ 46.50. Even if they all filled at 46.50 but in multiples of 20, 20, and 10 – it’s counted as 3 separate trades! (Of course multiple exits exacerbates the problem even further)

THIS IS ONE TRADE!! NOT FOUR TRADES!! THINK ABOUT IT. To treat this as four trades skews almost all the performance categories listed on the performance page!! Like I said, even if the all the fills were filled at the same price they are rarely filled all at once and therefore almost all the numbers, totals, and percentages are off!! MOST OF MY MULTI-CONTRACT TRADES ARE RECORDED AS 10 OR MORE TRADES BECAUSE OF MULTIPLE PRICE/TIME FILLS!!

ANYTHING OTHER THAN FLAT TO FLAT SKEWS THE PERFORMANCE PAGE RESULTS!! For example:
Total number of trades
Percent profitable
# of winning trades
# of losing trades
Average winning and losing trades
Max conseq. winners/losers
Largest winning/losing... :faint:

WHICH MEANS IN EFFECT THAT WE CANNOT TRACK SO MANY OF THE STATISTICS THAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT SO THAT WE CAN TRACK OUR TRUE PERFORMANCE!

Professional traders will typically do the reporting and reconciliation somewhere else than in NT.
NT is a charting and trading platform, not that much of a reporting tool

Also keep in mind that the DB behind NT is not all that super great, once a thousand trades are
stored, the Database quickly tends to explode and you will have to empty it to keep NT working
smoothly.. Then you're trades are gone anyway...

If you're trading fifty contracts of Cl, that's $500 a tick. You can for example get Tradervue analysis software silver package for less than $25 a month, using the Futures.io Elite member 20% monthly discount. That has the option to record your trades from flat to flat. There is also an indicator available, from another company they link to that will transfer all your trades automatically in real time, to Tradervue from Ninjatrader (NT7 only at the moment though), without needing to do it manually.

Take a look at the S5 Trade Analyzer for NinjaTrader. I haven't used it personally but I think this can provide what you're looking for.
