I understand what non-pro exchange fees and market depth are....They are fees that every data provider charges.
I still dont get what the RT US Futures fee is for...Yes, you explained it, I still think it should be included in (like it was previously) in the base fee of 82usd.
If I sign up for Eurex, do I have to pay for a RT Eurex fee as well? I believe the answer is no, it's just included in the exchange fees, and base fee...real time data that is.
IQFEED Answers to your above questions: Data providers don't "charge" exchange fees. We "collect' them for the exchange. Because there are extra costs involved in providing real-time futures the data provider is charging you for them. Some data providers include them in their fees somewhere, somehow, and some, like us, give you the option of adding them or not. Not everybody wants or needs real-time EUREX data. If you add real-time EUREX data there are 2 additional fees. There is a $30 International Data Fee (same justification, same principal as the "Domestic" RT Futures fee) that we charge + there is the exchange fee that we are also required to collect. The exchange fee will either be $23 or $81 depending on your pro/non-pro status.
I what what an exchange fee is, and I know IQ feed collects it on behalf of the exchange.
This RT Entitlement fee did not exist years ago for IQ Feed, in fact I know of someone close to me who has been a customer of yours for many years and never had to pay this fee up until today.
IQFEED Reply - The Real-time Futures Fee for the IQFeed data has existed for many years. I started with DTN in 1993 before IQFeed even existed. If this someone has been an IQFeed subscriber for many years and this someone has and has had at least one Real-time Futures exchange and this someone has just today started paying the Real-time Futures fee, then we've been making a Billing error for many years and just caught it today. Because it was our error we will not back bill this someone. If you or this someone want to email me directly at [email protected] with the IQFEED user id number of this someone I can investigate this and provide the exact answer based on the actual facts of this situation instead of guessing what might have happened.
What is the difference between IQ Feed and Rithmic?
Rithmic data only is $49.99/month plus $15 CME bundle non-pro, plus $15 market depth.
All real time.
Is IQ feed data so much better?
Iq feed: $82 base fee, $15 cme bundle, $20 realtime data domestic futures, $20 market depth
I trade on the price ladder, if your data is so much better, I would be gladly to pay the difference....I'm not trying to be a smart ass....I want to know
IQFEED Answer to Question - I would never disparage any of our competitors. In fact Rithmic is a good data feed.
So WHY do serious traders choose IQFeed and pay the difference:
We’ve been providing serious traders with quality market data since 1984. Every one of our current customers are paying us for our data even though they have access to all of the other cheaper and in some cases free data feeds out there, too. These are serious traders that take spending money as serious as making money so they have to have a good reason to spend their money on IQFeed.
Some pay us because our data is faster - speed of data is important when intraday trading. Some because our data is cleaner - you can’t make the right trading decision with the wrong data. Some because our data is more complete - we provide every tick, so in many cases this is twice as much data as other feeds. Some because our data is more reliable - we have our own multi-million $ data center, our own ticker plant, our own redundant server farm so we don’t rely on any 3rd party, and we don’t slow down or go down during busy markets. Some prefer IQFeed data because it comes with easy to reach best in the biz free tech support available by phone, email and online chat 24/5. Or maybe its the free real-time newswires, the variety of exchanges, or the 80+ compatible software programs...etc
But it doesn't matter what I tell you or even what our customer say. What matters is if it works for you, so we offer the free trial of IQFeed so you can make up your own mind. And the subscriptions can be set up monthly so if you change your mind, or if trading doesn't work out, or you just want to take a break, you can cancel even on the last day of the month.
For more reasons to choose IQFeed please attend the futures.io webinar on July 12th - I'll be doing an informational webinar along with our in-house market analyst and world-wide market trainer Dominick Chirichella.
This is in no way a hidden advertisement for IQfeed, I promise. But I feel the urge to clarify a few things here.
I am an IQfeed customer since 5+ years. I am a swing trader on tick charts.
I had them all... bar chart, CQG, Interactive Brokers... I am completely happy with IQ and will stick to it foreseeably. Their fee agenda is in the normal range (compare it). They are, as Dave said, extremely reliable. Easy integration into your software package.
If you trade on several international exchanges (like I do), your fees amount easily to 300-400 bucks, but that's not IQ, that's the exchanges' data policies. Check out the CME fee waiver program.
Nobody is arguing about fees coming from exchanges....Its the so called Real Time entitlement fee that I find strange. It adds up, lets say 20 for Domestic US and 30 for Eurex....thats an extra 600 usd a year. Nothing to do with the exchange fee...
