Should buying instead of selling generate the same quantity and dollar value of trades (negative of course)?

I am not using slippage or fees. Why would the same strategy generate different results for Buy VS Sell?

Quite a few potential reasons. It really depends on your code. Some strategies will be exactly the opposite if you reverse them. Others may not, especially if you use stop orders or limit orders.

If you post the exact code, someone here could explain why it does not reverse perfectly.
