What was it like for you as a beginner?

This thread is aimed at experienced profitable traders. Do you remember what was going on in your mind within your first couple months to first couple years of trading and how long did it take for you to become consistent?

I've been trading for a month and a half. I don't expect that I'll become profitable for a very long time, but I'm being stringent (the best word to describe it) in my approach to trading- especially after losing $700 (backtesting now). I know that's not much at all, but I'm taking this very seriously and I want to do this the right way. I know I don't need to lose thousands of dollars to learn how to trade.

I'd like to get a discussion going around your trading careers. Honestly I'd like to know everything. I'm obsessed with trading in general, and I love reading success stories- and actually, horror stories are just as interesting. This is a very open ended question, feel free to veer off some.
