Pre US session volatility Friday 12/14/18

The daily high and low on this past Friday were really wide, the entire US session traded between it's range for the remainder of Friday so I'm wondering if there is an explanation, two things, I know the ZB has been going up continuously for a while now, and I also suspect something happened during the London/Euro session.
