I am looking for books that would aid one with their self-improvement. I realized that the only thing that is holding me back in life is nothing but myself. And I don't even talk about trading, I have/had a lot more problems than being trigger shy in my Live account, believe me. Anyway, recently it just "clicked" in my head. It is all me, or rather my talking to myself who is the culprit to what is holding me back, be it relationships, going out there and getting the job I didn't know I wanted or being able to trade (profitably).
Sorry if this sounds like some sort of self-help entry, I just felt like mentioning it. And honestly, I don't care what anyone thinks of it. I don't mean this to sound rude, but I really don't care - I would have not too long ago.
Anyway, I am well aware that I am not there yet. In fact, I still have a long way to go but I believe if I keep following this newly chosen path I can, no, I will change my life for the better.
That's why I am looking for books that would help me "get there". I read @MiniP 's thread about the Chimp Paradox, this looks very interesting and is the kind of stuff I'm looking for. Maybe you got some more books of this calibre? (I hope the mentioning works, lol).
Doing my research I found "Eckhart Tolle - The Power of Now", has anyone read it/can make a few comments about it? I will probably buy it regardless but still.
I guess I just wrote my "story" so you guys know what kind of stuff I'm looking for. Just make a list, throw out anything you read/have on your to-read list or have heard about. I don't care what it is, Buddhism, Psychology etc etc. I just want a list I can look through and if I believe a certain book would be helpful to me, read it.
Another that I have just finished is 'Talent is Overrated: What Really Separates World-Class Performers from Everybody Else' by Geoff Colvin. An excellent book talking about the importance of deliberate practice (and hard work), with lots of case studies of top sportsmen, chess players, musicians, and how that knowledge should be carried over for business and people's goals in general.
You do not win as a trader, you just get to play again the next day. If that game doesn’t appeal to you then you should not trade. Gary Norden
Thinking Fast and Slow

No particular order.
All stuff I've read this year and found useful.
Thanks so far everyone, I will look into it and more than likely order a first few of the books. Chimp Paradox will be on top of the to-read list as It seems to be quite the thing for (or should I say against) overthinking.
I just stumbled upon this post, Eckart Tolle's books are great!! all of them.
I once was very passionate about self help books but most of them are useful only if you read them from the "right perspective".... some of them are scams and I would avoid them altogether.
I suggest "think and grow rich", it's a classic and I found it really useful in the past.
