For me, NQ gives great moves most days..but it can be too volatile for most people. It took me a while to understand how it moves and the best way to trade it, but I have good handle on it now. I love scalping it for 10 to 20 ticks..The trades usually hit the target in a few seconds. Also, you can often catch some very big moves if you stay in it for a bit.

Keep in mind trend and volatility are two different things.
One of the most simple market models is to have a trend component and a random shock/volatility component.

An ideal market would have a strong trend with low volatility. Then we could all just leverage up as much as possible and print money with a naive buy and hold strategy. Of course if everyone did this at some point things would get overpriced so you would get profit taking, the trend would break and volatility would explode.

If you are also talking about the volatility of your PnL much of that is going to have to do with contract size and the amount of leverage you are using.

The markets themselves are always changing so can ask what is the most trending or volatile right now but these are not static properties of a market.
