hi - can anyone please provide advice on how to configure multicharts so a signal trades daily bars based on session times rather than 24hr time. e.g. for TY futures i would like daily entry after the trading break ends at 18:00 rather than when the next calendar day begins at 00:00

mitty,

when you are using daily data this might be dependent on your data provider, but the times displayed might also be caused by settings.

Can you post a screenshot of your instrument settings on the chart and Quotemanager session settings for the symbol?

Thanks for the reply. I did have the session set up for TY to be from 1800 - 1700 as it appears with RTY in the images, but changed it to reflect how the orders were actually being placed so the on-chart signal simulation would match what i was experiencing through the portfolio trader. Also using IQ feed to trade with IB if that helps

mitty,

yes, this should do it. Although one thing to keep in mind with daily bars and higher is how they are constructed. In case you are using daily data, your data provider will likely only provide four data points (Open, High, Low and Close). So even if you change the times that are displayed on the chart, the data might actually be the same just showing a different time stamp.
If you construct your daily bars out of minute data the times would be much more relevant on the other hand as in this case different data would be used to construct the bars according to the time settings.
