Hi all,

In summary, I've been on/off trading for 15 years now and have multiple attempts at full-time trading already. After my last 'failure', I got myself an education in engineering and decided that I did not want to go back to (full-time) trading until I had something I really believed in. It took me a lot longer than I expected...

I expected this to be a maximum of 1 years after I started working full-time, but 2 years later I was still grinding and felt that my day job was a real detriment to my progress as a trader. I now feel I have sufficient tools, methodology and a capital base to pursue trading full-time once again. Ideally, I could have progressed a bit more, but I feel time flies fast now and it's time to actually focus on trading instead of progressing slowly as I do with a full-time demanding job on the side.

I've hedged my bets in that I actually have a standing job offer with some other firm, so I feel there's zero downside at the moment beyond my savings which I have put aside to live on for 4 months or so. I also consider the option of some light part time work to have some supplemental income, but not initially.

September will be my last month in the workforce. After that - I'm on my own. Exciting!

I feel I have most of the practical stuff figured out due to my experience already, but would be curious to hear from some of you other full-time traders if you have any advice to share with a fellow trader.

Thanks in advance!

Howard

Question, do you have a strategy that has proven itself to be profitable?

Anyone at all?

I'm not looking for advice on my trading methodology as what I have seems to be working (last week was very profitable for me).

I'm more interested in lifestyle advice and that kind of stuff. Traps to avoid. Planning for the future. Should I get an office. And so on.

My goal for next year is to earn 1 million USD from my trading operations.
