I have been observing how DmPlusSignals_v5 working on NT 7 for two days; and, I found some problems. The issue may be caused by NT itself or your code. If you are not too busy, could you check chart with the your indicator running in Real time please?
Please look at the attached chart on the area with three arrow marks:
a. This chart was generated with NT7.0.23 in real time.
b. Once the signal dots were printed, they stayed there despite the condition changed.
c. There are two ways to remove the signal dots manually---
1. Hitting "Reload all Historical Data".
or,
2. Open "Indicators window and change Parameters".
I only provided nt7 version because you all asked for it. I don't use nt7 and don't have it running during market hours because I have all 3 computer running nt 6.5. However, I know from previous experience that the issue you mention occurs occasionally in nt7 when it doesn't in nt6.5. I raised this issue with nt support and have no idea if they fixed it. I haven't kept up with it. That's the reason I quit using nt7 for trading. I couldn't trust it. I reported it several versions ago. So, I have no idea what the current status of that issue is. You should be able to reload the scripts without reloading historic data or changing the parameters.
If you have a second computer, try running the nt65 version and see if you have the same problem.
I checked on the status of the problem I mentioned with NT7 and it isn't good. They explained it away and I understand why they did. I have to do more work to prove to them that the problem is in NT7 as opposed to my code. It's a bit irritating because the exact same code works in nt6.5. However, I am going to run 6.5 today and watch it to make sure I'm right that the problem doesn't exist in nt6.5.
The good thing is that the line showing order placement goes away in nt7.
I took the easy way out. The problem with the nt7 version doesn't exist in the nt6.5 version and the code is the same. I know how to fix it or at least I think I do but don't want to spend the time it will take to fix it. So, I took the easy way out and changed the dots which is a plot to a triangle which is a drawobject. I hate using that many drawobjects because it's an inefficient way to display something. However, as I stated, I took the easy way out. Anyway, here's the new version. Take a look and see if the problem is fixed.
If you're referring to the ones that are 5 bars long, they represent the same as all the other lines which is the location to place your stop order for entry. The different colored lines have no meaning to anyone but me. I use those so I know which block of code put the entry there.
The attached charts are generated real time with NT 7.0. 0. 23. Your newest indicator either fired partial signals for Setup bars; or.fired signals for bars which don't meet the loose (non strict) rules. The following are few samples during the day:
1 and 2. Dark red triangle and hot pink horizontal line displayed for Method 2 Short; but, Green background (green trade) on DMplus_v3a. Also, there is no difference in color of signals between Method 1 Short and Method 2 Short.
3, 4 and 5. No signal fired during real time.
6. Green triangle and lime horizontal line displayed for Method 2 Long; but, EMA20 is red plus Red background (red trade) on DMplus_v3a. Also, there is no difference in color of signal between Method 1 Long and Method 2 Long.
7 and 8. No signal fired during real time.
Suggestions:
a. Signals of big round dot are very pleasant for vision. Would you consider to put them back with your extra cod writing? Or, is it possible to place big round dot a few pixels away from jeffsUniversalMovingAvergage_v1 EMA20 line?
b. Either TriangleUp or TriangleDown signals in dark colors (dark red or green with black outline) are hard for eyes to find them in a non white chart background (especially black background). Could you consider offering users options to choose their own preferred colors and width of signals? DmPlusSignals_5 does have option choosing function; while v6 is not. TIA!
Those lines are locations for your stop orders so the fact that the lines are there IS important. The COLOR of the line has no meaning to anyone other than me.
