I'm just trying to get setup for futures trading with Multicharts and Open E Cry. Right now I am wrestling with getting the Quote Manager configured and figuring out the symbols etc. I would also like to get connected to another data source like google or yahoo to pull down more historical data.

That's where I am. I am climbing the MC learning curve now. Although there is a lot to MC, most things seem to covered in the docs, just got to do more reading I guess. I want to start out be getting the S&P 500 symbol list in Quotemaster and linking to OEC. I'm bangin' away, I'll be sure to share what I learn.

No need to bang your head, although we encourage users to take the learning into their own hands.
To enable Open E Cry, or any other data source, simply go to QuoteManager > Tools > Data Sources. There you select the one you want to use, and click Settings. Enter your name and password - you are now connected!
Next step is to add a symbol from the provider of your choice. Some providers has a Symbol Lookup function and some don't. Open E Cry has it, so you can search for the symbol you want. Go to QuoteManager > Instrument > Add Symbol > From Data Source >Open E Cry (or press Ctrl+Alt+P while in QM). Select the Futures tab, and search for ES contracts. Choose one (or several that you want), and click Add. You can now close out of this window, and go make some charts in MultiCharts!

I've made some good progress on the MC learning curve. I think I've got Quotemanager tamed a little more. My big issue came when the Exchange Abrv that OEC uses didn't match up to what was already in the database. I renamed them once I figured them out but I should have created new ones just duplicating the info but I went back and did that today. Also I updated/created a number of the softs in the symbols database since it doesn't have any of the information in the database with the ICE exchange, those exchanges they had in the database that used ICE and IPE already I renamed the abbreviation. I also had an issue since MC doesn't have an active ordering capability or DOM I was going to use OEC application but it wouldn't let me connect both to the datafeed but in quotemanager under the OEC datasource settings if you check "Allow Remoting" and withing OEC Trader you select allow remoting you can have them both online and connected.
