I have looked at their OQ, didnt know about VQ... will give it a try... seems rather interesting...

my feedback so far... interesting concept.. as long as you know how to code on NT C#, you can learn to code easily on VQ... I liked the fact that it allows for component re-use.. what I mean by that is, think of subroutines that do something within your strategy code.. those become the blocks that make up systems.. novel concept as it allows those blocks to be visualized... it would get some getting used to.. and the system needs better documentation... it only uses tick/minute/volume bars.. no range.. but that can be easily written as it will become a block..

I noticed it compiles things into stand-alone strats, but what I don't understand is how that would work if you are trading to a single threaded API. If you wanted to run five strats, for example, would that be five executables all talking to the API at the same time? Could get a bit messy visually as well. Or did I miss something?

It is pretty cool though and the Visual Studio shell concept is one I like.

Unfortunately my data provider is not supported so I can't play too much .

I am always excited by new platforms, especially ones with a new engine and approach where the interface doesn't look 10+ years old.

yes, they are lacking on the data provider department... I have my main account with IB, so I was able to get data into it... I think I saw a data import, which would mean an export... will check...

as to the multithreadiness.. I did enable all their demo strategies at the same time and had them running.. of course, nothing went against IB.. so this coming week I will load up the software on the VPS and point it to the IB demo acct and setup a few new instruments and just let it loose running multiple to see what it does..

btw, each strat would be a separate diagram under a project.. at least that is how I understand it... am not yet sure how it would track the strat orders to ensure something is not cancelling another's order.. specially if one happens to run multiple strats against the same instrument.. i.e. one for trend, one for chop.
