So im trying to get the total real movement of a bar. Isstead of the range (high is 50, low was 45, range = 5), im trying to find the total up and down movement of the bar.

In an oversimplied example: bar open at 48, move to 51, back down to 45, back up to 49. total movement in the bar was 14.

Is this possible with some sort of lookinsidebar or something?

rolandw85,

you can accomplish this in real time in an indicator. In a strategy you could accomplish this using intrabar calculations and look inside bar backtesting with a high resolution on historical bars, too.
If you need this on historical bars within an indicator take a look at PriceSeries Providers as they will allow you to load a faster resolution within the code. Another approach could be using multiple data streams on the chart and accessing the values from within one indicator. For all approaches you will likely have to have access to 1 tick data from your code in order to get all updates.
