Is there an indicator for Ninja Trader showing the amount of periods a price is below/above a simple moving average?

Best regards!

Would be easy to code this.

What do you want to use the number of periods for? If price was below its EMA(200) for 500 bars, what is the meaning?

How do you want to display the result? As a number on top of each bar? As a separate indicator? Somewhere in the corner of the chart? Do you want to know this figure for the last bar on the chart only?

The question is really, whether this makes sense at all. If you are looking for a short-term overbought or underbought indicator, you could take the RSI as well.

I have seen a study for forex markets where the duration of being above/below a sma could be a sign for a turn around in the near future.

So the indicator would be like a oscillator below the chart with the daily duration of the exchange rate above/below an sma.

In this case have a look at the indicator TD Sequential. It uses a count down method that is also used by professional traders.
