Sorry to be so dumb - how do I save as "(name)studies.ts"? is it text?

If you just have the script you can go to:

edit studies / new / and then copy/past the script, name it and then save it

I tried and didn't particularly like it. Maybe I'll check it out again.

Whoever took the time to do it though is pretty cool in my book.

Don't suppose you still have this code (9 years later? ) I know range bars are built into thinkorswim now, but I'm trying to do something that identifies ranges on regular time charts, and am stuck on getting the code right.
