Has anyone used Adaptrade, GSB, Buildalpha etc. for a number of years and had consistent success in live trading ?

On some of the websites, for example, there are testimonials and brokerage statements provided as evidence on the website. However, these date from a couple of years ago and reflect a period of months of "success".

I don't think this means much - could very well be randomness. I think the creators of each software of course set out to make a good product with the best of intentions but it may just be that the approach of GA data-mining is not successful in the financial markets (for the retail trader using off the shelf software). So proof suggesting otherwise is what I am looking for.

Even if it works only in limited circumstances (e.g. daily/weekly trades), on specific symbols or only after very rigorous testing etc. - that's all supportive.

Good to hear from people with actual experience over a number of years (not someone who hasn't tried any program at all and is generally skeptical of everything off-the shelf or optimizers etc.).

After using this builders and tracking systems developed with builders I dont found any reason to use it..
Probably I should focus on builders to spend a lot of time with it. Maybe it requires special attention and deep understanding..
Maybe my experience in strategies building "old fashion" way is much better .. An again.. building strategie focusing on logic , on reason , why this strategy should work, works better for me , instead of using 8 servers with 24 cores and week of parallel computing with GSB..

For each of the 3 products you mentioned in your post, there are individual threads on NexusFi that contain plenty of comments and feedback which can be found via the Search function.
I am a user of Build Alpha. I won't go into detailed commentary here because there are other NexusFi threads. I will simply say that any of these mining apps are simply tools that are used in the much larger process of building and testing automated strategies.

Exactly! Too many people think these automated strategy builders are the solution. They can be PART of the solution, but are not the whole solution.
