Hello,

I have a ninjatrader lifetime license but have moved all my money to my other broker accounts as I didn’t
didn’t like having to pay to withdraw funds and I personally experienced a lot of platform lag on my desktop.

At this time I’m not going to re-fund an account with them.

Is there any use I can get out of the platform even though I have no funds there and will not be paying for data? I’m pretty disappointed and should have done better due diligence before shelling out the $1000 to buy the platform.

Originally I had used AMP as my futures broker and thought I would be paying way less in commissions if I bought the lifetime license (definitely misunderstood the lifetime rates) and was told that Phillip capital was rolling out an ach withdrawal feature in early Q1 2020 (this was back in December 2019). Of course now the talk is the feature is indefinitely TBD if not scrapped altogether.

Just trying to see if theres any standalone use cases for the nt8 lifetime platform...

The platform can be used for strategy evaluation and backtesting., etc., but only with EOD data if you don’t have an account with the Ninjatrader Brokerage. And you don’t have to buy the platform to get this either.

If you fund a Ninjatrader account with $400, you can get live, streaming data on SIM. Just don’t log into your account for LIVE trading, or you will be charged if you don’t trade. Simply use SIM. It’s unlimited in use - at least for now. That’s a decent deal.

Your other Brokers might offer NT also. If you are having lag problems on your computer, you may have to upgrade the RAM or purchase a new rig.

One thing you can do is use it with Replay data. If you're not familiar with the function, you can download market data on your computer and replay it at will.

Normally you do this directly within NT if you have a data subscription but it is also available elsewhere - Assuming we're talking about NT 8, I have a few years of Replay data for CL and a few ES replay files available for free to Elite users to download in the Downloads section.

I'm sorry about your buyer's remorse. But I did want to let you know that Phillip Capital does have ACH transfers. Cannon Trading clear's through Phillip Capital and we have been able to set up our clients with ACH transfers. You may want to check with your broker again. If not we do offer ACH transfers with Phillip Capital

PM with any questions about Cannon Trading (800) 454-9572 (310) 859-9572. Trading commodity futures, forex and options involves substantial risk of loss. The recommendations contained in this post are of opinion only and do not guarantee any profits. These are risky markets and only risk capital should be used. Hi @Zephyr can you explain in more detail how one does this as I reached out to @NT Brokerage via email and have got no response as to how to accomplish this.
TIA

This seems weird.

As far as I know, there is no way to get real-time data unless
you connect to your account -- the real-time data feed comes
with the account.

Sure, once you've connected, you can trade Sim101 and avoid
trading real money in the live account -- but Sim101 trading
with real-time data requires you to connect to something.

Thanks @NT Brokerage Nate for the info.
Posting here for anyone else:

The $25 Minimum Account Activity Fee is charged to clients who login to use market data resources for sim trading but do not also live trade the minimum 2 contracts (1 roundturn) per month.
All fees are listed on our website at the following link: https://ninjatrader.com/pricing/account-fees/
