I've been actively trading for about 2 years now, blown through 3 accounts, and have done every mistake in the book.

But I feel like I'm at a real turning point regarding my trading, mainly my previous inability to control emotions which I feel like I'm now getting under my belt.

Of course this is true for every successful trader... Rome wasn't built in a day and there's no such thing as overnight success.

What makes me kind of depressed (I am diagnosed with bipolar and I score high on neuroticism - bad for trading) is that... as a trader... you can't really talk to any non trader about it.

It's like a surgeon trying to explain his job to a non surgeon.
Or a pilot explaining his job to a non pilot, etc.

My point is I feel that, as a trader, you can really only talk about trading to other traders who have been through the struggle.

And maybe it's a good thing I have you guys

I rarely post but I just wanted to see if anyone agrees with me on this.

On retail trading being a lonely profession... absolutely. The retail trader sits at home staring at the screen and managing their emotions, most of the time.

In most other professions you meet - either in person or via video - clients, colleagues or suppliers. You can chitchat with your coworkers or bitch about your boss

One must be comfortable with being on their own, otherwise it can be pretty miserable, even when in profit!

Haha, I'm with you on that.
I'm an introvert (doesn't mean I have no social skills) but yeah... being alone is nice.
And being your own boss is.... the dream.
So yeah..... no reason to truly be miserable... just gotta take it for what it is... in a good light!
