Hi there!
Guys, if you had enough money where would you live? In what country?
Last year I wanted to live in the USA but after recent events changed my mind completely. Now my dream place is Spain, somewhere by the sea. It is a gorgeous country with a huge number of advantages. At the moment my dream destination is Punta Prima, in the Costa Blanca area. It is a quite expensive region but with great value for money correlation, my opinion.
What about you?

I would definitely pick Thailand. Good weather (no bone chilling winters), access to beaches, low cost of living, can also buy properties, lively nightlife and so on.

Consider these points especially in your retirement age because I am definitely not one of those who think shoveling tons of snow for half a year calling a good life.

That is the only downside when you want to do trading.

If I would to move I would consider non-polluted and sparingly crowded area nearby city with all the major facilities, this limits the options but if you plan for retirement, don't just plan for fun times, also Tax is indeed a big issue, more so than we think. I would certainly consider Spain but after looking around in Big Mikes thread, I feel Ecuador might not be a bad choice either.

Not too far away from the US, not too far away from the cities, not completely off the grid but relatively pollution and people free with possible good returns on fixed assets as well tax benefits. Best is, you can buy property and possibly even citizenship, if ready to invest some money. I know Thailand sounds attractive proposition, but take it from Asian, its not a place to spend more than holidays.

I've been thinking about this recently. Spent 20 years in the US, left and came back to Canada. But, winters don't appeal to me, much more a coastal, warm weather type.

Eyeballing Goldcoast/Brisbane Australia right now. At a minimum going to check it out within the next 3 years. Temperate weather, beaches, big metropolitan cities, all things I value.
