Hi,
is a strategy only bound to a chart? I'm curious if i can bypass the chart to save some processing time.
I need the incoming ticks only and enter and manage orders from there. Like an TT/CQG API interface but from within the NT application. What are the leanest way of doing this in NT8?

Hi,

You do not need to use a chart to run a strategy.

I'm not familiar with earlier versions of NT, but in NT8, strategies can be loaded and managed through the Control Center window. There is a Strategies tab in that window. You can right-click in it which will reveal a menu of various actions that can be performed with regard to strategies.

i was confused, the strategies were never attached to the chart directly - only to a dataseries. I've done my backtesting with my own engine with chart output for so long, that i've forgot the default way of doing this.
