Is there is a way to get real time futures market prices into Excel, maybe using an add-in linked to a data provider service.

I just want to be able to receive live price data, I'm not interested in submitting orders via Excel.

I contracted NinjaTrader (which is the platform I use) but they said they don't currently have that feature in NT.

I don't want to change platforms, and I'd rather not have to pay (or least not too much) for another service.

Thanks in advance.

It's easy to with IB, their is a demo Excel spreadsheet which can do everything.
For ZenFire, maybe you can try what @bukkhan has done, here ?

Thanks.

I only have the standard free version of NinjaTrader. Would I require an upgrade to use the DDE stuff?

No, the only difference between the free version and the regular one is the ability to send orders on real account(s).

Thanks.

I apologise in advance if this is a dumb question, but how do I open a NinjaScript? I can find the option to import, but not to open!

Tools - Edit NinjaScript.

But some editions of NinjaTrader don't have that feature. You should consider paying for the platform to support the developers if you intend to actively use it.

Mike is partially right. You can use the platform in simulation mode using the Free Edition License and have access to all software features, except the ability to trade live. Ask for such a license if that is what you want to experiment. There are three types of license: one free license to trade live but with limited functionality
, another free license that unlocks all features but you can't trade live and finally one paying license with no limitation.
