I'm setting up my new trading network. What is the best/fastest setting for hardware (modem, powerline or router) for the market trading data coming in streaming or gaming? Thanks

I have always done best with a cable from my computer directly plugged into the router bypassing WiFi altogether.

I use CAT6 Ethernet Cable Directly Plugged into my router to my PC. I do not use Wifi On Trading Computer Or Gaming. Fastest Connection will always be Direct Connect with CAT6 Ethernet Cable. Hope that helps.

I’m in no way a tech expert, but my experience with NT8 is that performance issues are negligible unless you have 25+ charts open. I believe issues at that point have more to do with their own software optimization than your graphics card/processor. Some things that I do think make a difference:

A reliable, high speed internet connection
A backup connection (even a phone hotspot with a decent data plan works)
SSD
8gb+ RAM
Multiple monitors

Perhaps:
Consider the latency between you and your broker. There will always be an execution delay that’s broker-side as they receive your order and then submit it to the exchange. Shouldn’t be an issue for most traders, however.

I use a wireless internet connection, but I fully agree with the above posters that if you need that level of granularity and execution speed, go with a wired connection. I might be leaving something off, but I think the above is all I’d recommend for trading off NT8.
