The NT8 Tick Replay feature must be enabled for certain indicators (such as a footprint or other similar indicators) to load historical data but is it really needed?

When we use the volumetric bar in Ninja we don't need to enable tick replay but many third party tools need to have this feature enabled. My question is why some indicators need it while it is not necessary?

In place of Tick Replay, an indicator can be configured with a 1-Tick dataseries so that OnBarUpdate() is called for each tick during historical bar processing. This is likely how NT’s order flow tools do it under the hood.
