I was so shocked when I read this article that I felt I had to post it. Denmark is supposed to be a civilized country. What kind of miserable human beings would kill off animals that have been caged their entire lives in the zoo for the pleasure of humans?

I wrote an email to the zoo. I hope others are similarly outraged enough to send emails to them.

Copenhagen Zoo kills three wolves so their enclosure can be used for modern expansion
*The three male wolves have been kept at Copenhagen zoo since the 1980s
*They were killed in order to make way for a 'new and modern area' at the zoo
*Wolf enclosure will soon become a part of the elephant and antelope open area

And it's not over. They're planning more killings to "make more room".

This is quite impressive!! I was shocked first by the decision to kill the three wolves, but even more by the sentence saying "brown bears will also disappear".
In Italy there was a big debate about the decision to kill a bear that was often coming close to villages and was becoming increasingly dangerous. At the end the bear was killed but there were thousands of protests in the streets and to my knowledge it was the only case.

Right now there are many cases of bears coming close to villages and they just get sedated and moved to other areas with some contention mechanism that keep them far away from houses.
