Actually on second thought, the above description is amazingly accurate of me. In a past life I was on unemployment that did not nearly cover my modest living expenses. I had about $1,000 in the bank. I answered an ad and accepted a sales position so I could continue to receive unemployment until I made some sales that would hopefully be more than my unemployment. In three months I had earned enough capital to start my own business -- which was a carbon copy of the business I was working for. During that time I studied and analyzed every aspect of the business, which industry I did have experience in. But I had never, ever done what I was hired to do. Still, after analyzing the business owner's success I duplicated it and was successful. And I could break it down for someone else and make it successful for another person because I never forget the precise issues I had during the learning/understand/analysis process.
That said, I am so frustrated right now that I am ready to jump out of tall building in a single leap. Just Kidding about jumping. But not the frustration.
I have spent countless days reading Perry's Platform thread, which I so ever gratefully thank Metal for introducing me to. I am confident that it will be the perfect system for me. One of the chief reasons is Perry's clarity. Perry explains everything crystal clear. My dilemma, however, is for the life of me I cannot get the indicators up and running on NT. Well it came to the point that I emailed Big Mike for help. It was hard for me to ask him for help but I did. Certainly I could not ask Perry for help. Let's see what Mike says.
OK, while showering I've reconsidered. If it's not so hard to learn, this means it's easy once you know how to do it. I really have tried long enough. I'm a good learner but a slow one. I'm still going through Perry's thread and taking notes. Now that I at least got NT up and running today (yes, it's taken a very long time), after I finish going through Perry's thread which I enjoy, I'll work on the less enjoyable tasks this weekend. It would be a miracle if I were ready to simulator-trade after the New York. Off to the gym.
What happened to my "Thank You" tab? This is what my days have been like with NT. Something critical has always been awry. Thanks for letting me vent.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I just got done answering a PM to @plethora from a few days ago (I am behind on PM's), and I hadn't read this thread yet. In my reply, I said just ask for help and you'll find most people are more than willing to help you. Then I read this!
On futures.io (formerly BMT) there are a lot of very technical people (from a technology standpoint), a lot of computer gurus. There are also a lot of people that are aspiring to become traders but are not very technology oriented. So stop for a moment and try to help, you are one of the guys that knows your ways around hardware and software, you could use your skill to help the one asking for help.
Now I don't know exactly what the problem was with getting the indicators working, so the first step is to make it more clear. A lot of non-technical people describe a problem as "it doesn't work", something that everyone in tech support laughs at. So @plethora you need to be much more specific as to exactly what you are doing that isn't working, then someone will surely help.
I agree... and I should apologize to you, for not following the spirit and intentions of your board, and to Plethora, for not having a bit more patience. I guess his behavior began to frustate me a bit and I expressed what I first thought of when I read his writing.
