I am looking for a stock trading platform, which will allow me to download data and access it whilst I am offline.

Would anyone be able to make a good suggestion?

I remember being able to do this with fire tip many years ago, but they only do futures.

How important is it to be offline? Is it to save on cost?

MultiCharts has a "Back Testing Edition" that allows you to do certain things offline. They support multiple brokers and multiple financial assets (Stocks/Futures/Forex/Crypto+). However, you need to purchase a lifetime edition and then you need to purchase the BTE.
