Hello guys,

Just wanted to ask quickly about your personal experience with Ninjatrader. It would be great if you have experience with other software as well.

Personally, I've never used anything else seriously and I love the charts, but lately my frustration across the board have been increasing to the point where I'm seriously looking into other alternatives. I'm a lifetime license owner and have used NT for 10 + years.

Thank you.

Can't believe there's no happy users here. Maybe most are too busy trading to bother posting.

I am happy with NT7.

I have to install NT8 because of other trading system I use, but my majority of trading happens only in NT7, considering how 8 is still unstable even after these many years - even for my teacher!

Maybe the happy NT7 traders (like me) are too busy making $$ to post.

If you are not happy, anyone posting and saying they are happy will not change your mind.

I wouldn't say I'm beating a dead horse, @DavidHP.

I'm doing research and I'm already learning new things, although some of it is conflicting. What I'm learning is that there's people still using NT7 claiming it's a better platform. Then we have people saying NT8 is a superior platform (not my experience).

I'm also learning that there could be some tricks that could help me.

Personally, I would expect a software costing over $1K to work perfectly out of the box.

While it's true that I haven't been entirely happy with NT lately, it's not entirely bad. And it's not certain that I will be more happy with another choice. Maybe the perfect platform/solution doesn't exist.

Every platform has its pros and cons, but in my experience very few platforms come near NinjaTrader 8 in terms of programmability. It's very easy to write your own tools based on existing code. I haven't come across any other platform that allows you to create your own Drawing Tools (like Fibos, shapes, etc) this easily.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
The intent was, that others opinions are usually just that, 'opinions'.

I program so NT7 meets my needs and I'm happy. NT8 may be better for some but I'd rather wait until it is fully functional before changing. I did the same when I was using NT6. I was one of the last to upgrade to NT7.

When NT7 was young, it was buggy and I was not willing to risk $ using it. After it became better, I swapped but even then gradually.

If you dislike NT8 perhaps you should go back to NT7 and see if that is better for you.
I know other platforms are available, I've tried most of them. They all have good and bad features. I've settled for NT7 and it suits my needs but that could change if my needs change.
