I've noticed large momentum moves out of consolidation of moving averages. Is this just typical accumulation phase or is anyone else concerned as I am that this may point to a large move down? Shown are daily charts from Jan 22 and Jan 23. Moving averages are 8, 21, 50, 200, and 256. I want to get rid of that 256 so its not so cluttered, but look at 12/13/22 - touched and fell back hard.

Hi, i dont think Moving Avg will have anything to do with the bounce or lack off. Maybe if MA is really your thing. You may wish to study MACD and EMA signals of MACD.

If Moving Averages is something you like, you really want to get context going with your studies, especially in the Areas of Volume/Momentum/Delta & of DOM
which should tell you why the fold or the rise

Cheers goodluck

I think by looking only at moving averages you are lacking a lot of context. You can easily delete that 256MA and I hardly think it will have any impact on your trading in th mid-, long-term.
