My plan is to spread the risk in 3 50k prop firm accounts, which means that my real-world capital risk right now sits at roughly $100 a month. I fully expect to FUBAR at least 1 or 2 of these accounts along the way, but if I can hold my measured, account scaling trading style in at least one of these accounts, I should be able to take off from here.
First day of live trading. I was a bit too cautious today, being that I'm starting to trade live again. My target was 13150, and it hit the target easily, but I closed the trade early to preserve profit and ensure that steady win rate that I so covet. But this is how all my successful accounts have started, cautiously. The move here would have been to have moved my stop loss up to break even and let the trade ride, which would have netted a profit around $500. My daily bias was bullish based on the NQ reaction to pre-market news and the fact that NQ has been pushing higher steadily over the past week.
One trade does not make a trader, but I appreciate the ability to make even an extra $100 in a day. If I maintain my measured approach, I'll not only grow this account, but I'll be able to, and feel more comfortable taking more risk. Risk is not only something that I think about on a trade-by-trade basis, but mostly I think about risk on an account basis.
Not much to see here. Part of my measured approach is I really like to see around $150/contract. I like to keep my numbers really uniform over a large set of trades. Time will tell.
