I tested the DTN bridge, on both NT7 and NT 6.5, and I saw that the order execution thru NT do not work good, it opens the right amount of unit in JTrader, but there are errors on reporting open positions unit in NT that causes a mess when trying to close the open positions.
The strange things is that on one of mine PCs with NT 6.5 it get historical data, but not on the others, this is really weird.
Thanks Luke for reporting issues about DNT Bridge.
We always ready to fix the issues in DNT Bridge and make it better.
Please send the issues to our support team , we will try our best to fix the issues you are facing.
FYI: DNT Bridge doesn't support historical data, It provides only real time tick data.
Ok, I have tried again, and the orders execution work weird, if it's a market order it match on NT and JForex, if it's a limit order it appear rigth on JForex but on NT it's going crazy, it start to open a lot of little unit. I don't understand how to close the orders, if i use a sell limit order (it's going crazy too on NT) for closing a buy one on JForex it open a short position (I Know on other forex platform like MT4, it works this way), and if I click close button, it close only last position on Jforex when on NT the orders are all closed.
About the historical data I'm able to get it only using NT 6.5 that I upgrading i think about from the 1000.13 version, don't ask me why, and now I got the same with a fresh new 1000.18, just restoring a backup export from that one.
Attached are some pics of what i speack about.
Another things is that i can use orders entry only thru chart trader, FX Pro, and Dinamic DOM, and the other tools like basic entry and Satic DOM it does not work on both NT7 and NT 6.5.
Hi Luke,
Thanks for testing the bridge in detail.
Regarding Ninja Trader opening multiple positions:
Ninja Trader 6 breaks down the trade quantity into small quantities, this issue has been fixed Ninja Trader 7.
If you do below settings in Ninja Trader 7, Multiple positions will not be opened.
In Ninja Trader, Options-->Simulator tab, uncheck enforce partial fills
check enforce immediate fills
(see the attached screen shot)
Please change the settings as shown in the screen shot. once these settings are done, Ninja Trader 7 will not open multiple smaller positions.
Regarding the issue of opening new short position in Dukascopy when you close long position in Ninja Trader:
This is because Dukascopy accounts works in 'Hedge' mode where as Ninja Trader works in 'Net' mode.
To use Net mode in Dukascopy, Please use Dukascopy MT4 demo account.
You can open Dukascopy MT4 demo from https://demo-login.dukascopy.com/fo/register/demo/?ismt4=1
For live accounts, you need to ask to your account manager to change the mode from 'Hedge' to 'Net'
Thank you.
Please let me know if you face any issues in using DNT Bridge.
Some clarifications/confirmations please;
Does the NT7/DTN Bridge /Dukascopy support minute data for FX?
When you say "To use Net mode in Dukascopy, Please use Dukascopy MT4 demo account.", do you mean trade NT through the MT4 account, or we must use MT4 to trade?
Any plans to support historical FX minute data?
Can you confirm if the Profit Targets and Stop Losses are held on the Dukascopy servers or held locally on the NT machine?
Does the DTN/DUKE support NT7 auto trading FX minilots?
Thanks
Thanks.
Can you confirm the NT7/TFT Bridge/DUKA will support autotrading FX mini lots?
Do you have an ETA for the historical data?
How far back will the historical data go(years)?
Will the the historical data be filtered?
Thanks
Thanks Stem1. I am glad to answer your questions.
Yes. DNT Bridge supports Minute data for FX. Actually DNT Bridge feeds tick data to forNinja Trader and Ninja Trader renders all types of charts using tick data(minutes, hours, range bars, tick charts)
By MT4 demo account, I meant to use MT4 demo account with Ninja Trader. MT4 account is nothing but JFOREX account which can be traded using MT4. Here we are using MT4 demo account just because it uses NET mode, nothing to do with it's MT4 user interface/platform.
I am planning to add support for historical tick data in future release which solves the purpose of all types of data (minutes, hours, range, ticks, renko)
All orders (stop loss/profit targets) are actually held at Dukascopy Server. You can see these orders in Dukascopy's JFOREX/JAVA platform. (see the attached screen shot)
Any order you(or your strategy) placed in Ninja Trader, same will be sent to Dukascopy server instantly. If you modify/cancel the order, same change will be sent to Dukascopy server. You can literally drag/drop you orders on Ninja Traders Chart Trader and see same thing is happening with the Orders at Dukascopy Server.
Another nice thing about this is, you get clear audio alert(human voiced: e.g Duka Order Filled/ Duka Order Changed) when Dukascopy server accepts your order so you are always confirmed about whether your order is at Dukascopy server or not.
Hi Stem1,
Yes. Dukascopy supports mini lot. DNT bridge can be used with NT 7 auto trading strategy to trade FX mini lot.
When to add historical data support is still not decided.
Thanks.
I notice Duka have extensive historical data, do you know of any work arounds that would get the data loaded into NT7?
How many people are using the NT/bridge/Duka at the moment?
Is it a work in progress or is it fully sorted?
The Duka website says the demo account is for 14 days, do you know if that is continuously renewable?
Is there a time limit on the free bridge demo?
In the event of loss of connection, are there any synching issues upon reconnection for trade position/ account position etc.
In your experience, what else do I need to know to make this system work smoothly?
Thanks for your help. This may be the solution.
