Okay, now let's talk about what's new. First, I need to let you know that I'm using voice dictation so please excuse any errors or typos.
For the last 10 months I have been suffering an extremely severe bacterial infection in my left arm with an open wound around my prosthetic. All attempts to close the wound failed. In fact, there were around 15 surgeries and total during those months and none of them could close the wound or eliminate the infection.
During this time I've also been taking a ridiculous amount of antibiotics, some of the strongest and identified as "Last resort". Nothing would eliminate the infection.
Finally, we decided to fly to Miami last month and remove the prosthetic. I currently have no elbow. After a few surgeries they installed what's called an X fix which is short for external fixator and I have four screws going into my arm and bicep area and this fixator will continue to immobilize my left arm for another couple of months. I also had a ruptured tricep on my left arm that was repaired.
It has been very difficult to adjust to only being able to use my right hand. coding has been quite especially difficult. Because there's really no way to voice dictate programming, even though I did look into some options that unfortunately did not work very well. I've also tried using dragon dictate on my windows 11 machine but it's pretty hot garbage.
What I have found to work is voice dictation from my pixel phone and a combination of using chat GPT. I can then copy and paste code and make small modifications. Although it takes a considerable amount of effort and time. Maybe you've been keeping up with the change log and have noticed some of the recent changes that I've been able to implement.
The doctors say that I may not be a candidate for a replacement prosthetic in six to nine months. If that turns out to be true then I will have to live life with no elbow in my left arm. But let's think positively and instead assume that in 6 to 9 months I will have a new prosthetic installed and after several more months of additional physical therapy, I will be back to my old self.
Right now I have no use of my left hand, not because of the prosthetic or lack thereof. But instead due to a complication in one of the surgeries for the installation of the x fix the complication. Is that one of the screws wrapped around the radial nerve and entrapped it so I lost all feeling and all ability to move my left hand. A second emergency surgery took place, but I have yet to regain much ability to move my left hand.
During all of this time I have not been able to place day trades instead, just focusing on my usual swing trading. The site has been very busy thankfully and I will continue to spend most of my free time on the site and continue to work to make it better.
I appreciate each and every one of you and I know that you are sending your well wishes. It is much appreciated because honestly this is been a very difficult time. However, I know that we will get through it.
I'm not going to attach any pictures this time because they are pretty gruesome.
