I hope you are doing well. I Was wondering if there was a way to have realtime by tick moving averages on a 15 min or hourly charts? I hate how they recalculate only on the time frame reset? Does anyone know how to code something like that?

I am not sure of the question, but here is a thought that might answer your issue.

Have you thought of having a tick chart of 100 ticks a bar and do a moving average on it. The larger the moving average is like a smaller moving average on a larger time or tick chart. I personally like 40000 ticks and at least thirty day of data for my style of trading. Sillywave

Thank you for the reply but wouldn't that still only update the ma when that 100 tick bar is done?

Yes it would but moving averages are used to determine trending markets. I leave it at that. Wish you well in figuring it out.

Correct so if I am using a monthly timeframe it would be nice to have it updated hourly daily weekly and not wait form the month to close.

Ninja trader for instance has this feature I am assuming tos has a code option or think script
