Apex Trader Funding asked me to submit videos explaining my strategy, indicators used, and examples of me trading with market analysis and commentary. They want proof that I'm actually trading, and not taking lucky gambles or copy trading.
Seeing as I have to share my trading strategy and trades with Apex, I thought I'd share them here as well. I see a lot of traders asking for a profitable strategy.
I'm a trading mentor, so I was able to cut the strategy explanation from a training video I already had:
Here are 4 examples of me trading the strategy:
1. Market analysis followed by a 3 tick counter-trend scalp to demonstrate the basic setup.
2. Counter-trend move into resistance, attempting to take out stops above resistance.
3. With-trend move into support, taking out stops below support.
4. Making over $12k before breakfast. I've just woken up and I'm trading from my laptop in bed. This is a longer video; this was a very technical session that contains lots of examples of the strategies listed in the first video.
Happy to answer any questions here.
I'm currently on probation with Apex while the videos are reviewed. I'll also keep you updated on Apex's response, and my next payout request (which should be another $20k).
No, just friends and family. I've never sold any training. Primarily I'm interested in trading. Helping others comes second, but doing it forces me to think about my trading in more detail and keeps me accountable.
I started trading this strategy with Apex in Dec 2023. First payout was in January 2024. $70k paid out by June 2024, $20k pending for July waiting on video evidence to be approved, $20k waiting to be requested on next payout cycle.
Over time I found the following size works best for me:
Quality setups: Initial entry 2 lots, second entry 2 lots.
Majority of setups: Initial entry 1 lot, second entry 1 lot.
Apex have now responded to my payout denial. They confirm that scalping while in a trade is allowed, and this is not considered DCA. Due to the way their system currently identifies DCA (more than one execution in red), these trades will initially be …
Yes, exactly that. Apparently Darrell looked at it, said it wasn't DCA but scalping, and it was an incorrect flag. I think I posted that issue got resolved and I updated all my posts to reflect the outcome.
My videos were fully compliant with their initial request. After I submitted the videos, they changed the rules and say I need to show my mouse, keyboard and screen. Picture in picture is not allowed.
They have asked me to trade a further 3 days and submit 3 more trades on videos using the new format.
I recorded another video using the new format Apex require. It isn't pretty and I'm struggling to get what they ask.
I don't talk much about strategy as I'm concentrating more on getting the shot. But I do an analysis at the end and talk about not using a Stop. I explain how it can be better to wait and get out on the next favourable cycle.
